Carson Slade
Akron, Ohio Singer-Songwriter Carson Slade has been stuck in his head for a decade. He has watched friends and lovers slip away; he has witnessed the aftermath of overthinking, and has made a mental receipt of every heartbreak, triumph, and occasional nervous breakdown that he has ever experienced for himself or been a witness to seeing in another. At the age of eleven, after dealing with a host of mental and emotional anguishes brought upon by a tumultuous home life- and a confusing social life- Carson began seeking refuge in the wailings of guitar heroes like Stevie Ray Vaughn, the poetic musings of lyricists like Jackson Browne and Bruce Springsteen, and later- the Indie rock boldness of The Strokes and psychedelia of Tame Impala- just to name a few.
He began playing guitar at that same time, and has since been writing, arranging, and composing his own songs with no plans of stopping. Carson has firmly nestled himself somewhere between Acoustic Pop and Indie, with the words “Jazz” and “Blues” coming to mind when he plays certain chords. He’s really into anything- anything that can help him achieve his purpose: to reveal the truth about what’s going on in his mind and soul; and what’s going on in yours.
Carson has played solo shows at The Outpost in Kent, The Rialto Living Room, and the Artisan Cafe as well as countless other bars, restaurants, and wineries in the Northeast Ohio Area. As for being stuck in his head, he’s decided to venture out for now- but he invites you to have a look inside his mind for a minute or two. You may find it is not so different from your own.
