On Wednesday, October 20th, the Rialto Theatre in Akron on Kenmore Blvd welcomes Nashville mainstays and EarthQuaker Devices artists Thelma and the Sleaze as they invade its hallowed stage. The hard-rocking, hard-touring trio/quartet of proudly Southern LGBTQ+ Rockers returns to Akron on their first post-pandemic road excursion through the Midwest. Their no-sense mission; transforming formerly quiet local venues into loud, intense rock boxes. Led by singer, songwriter, guitarist, and host of the EQD presented Queen of S--- Mountain Podcast Lauren “LG” Gilbert, Thelma and the Sleaze simply exist to rock and is beyond ready to unleash a healthy and heavy dose of pure sonic adrenaline directly into your earholes. The band’s most recent December 2020 E.P. “Sacred as Hell” was recorded D.I.Y. style at LG’s home studio during quarantine with seven guitar-fueled songs with a melodic edge and her unflinching lyrical perspective. For the legions of TATS “creepers,” this show is a must-see. If you haven’t been to a show since quarantine, here’s a chance to let it ALL hang out. So, get ready to rock and sweat with Thelma and the Sleaze!
Oregon Space Trail of Doom
"In a land that never was, housed four people that never were. Drifting on the light waves of ghost stars, these cosmic cowboys have but one intention: to create a musical score for the impending interstellar apocalypse."
Oregon Space Trail of Doom is a four piece psychedelic rock outfit from Cleveland, OH. When not on tour their band doubles as a lounge band called Oregon Space Trail of Jazz. Having a solid, uplifting foundation in their hometown they aspire to seek elsewhere in hopes of spreading the dogma of their freshly released, second full length album "Time Is A Mirror."
