We’ll play at least one song from each of Jim’s albums, including from Jim’s eponymous first album (which everyone now calls South Side Days) to the most recent release, Good Bones. On top of that, you’ll hear four songs from the upcoming album Follow The Moon, two of which have never been played anywhere by the band.

The stream is free but, should you choose and are able to donate, you’ll receive free album downloads, depending on your level of donation, from the live album we’ll be recording that evening all the way to the full Jim Ballard catalog. The donations will go to help keep Rialto Theatre afloat through the pandemic.

Meet The Strangs

The Strangs are bassist Bill Watson, drummer Joe Lang, guitarist Wes McCraw and keyboardist Tim Longfellow.

They are a part of my family…

Bill has played with a who’s who of 330 bands including Deadly Earnest and The Honky Tonk Heros and Hillbilly Idol and Alex Bevan. He also is bassist for Rachel Brown and the Beatnik Playboys and of course with 15-60-75 The Numbers Band.

Wes and I first met when he was playing lead guitar for Searchlight Ensemble, a TransSiberian Orchestra-like Touring Christmas Concert. I was recruited to stand in as the other guitar player, so we just took it from there. He also plays with The Traveling Johnsons and Little Steve-O

Tim has been a keyboard legend in the 330 and way beyond for a lot of years. I call him ‘the fingerpoet” and you’ll hear why… You’ll find him also adding his magic to Yankee Bravo, Tracey Thomas and Brian Lisik. I believe Todd Rundgren is in there somewhere too…

I met Joe when I was producing the tribute CD to the music of John Bassette, when he came to the studio to drum for Jim Gill. When I wanted to put together a band for the Ask John Steinbeck CD , I called Joe. The rest is history.
