ATTENTION all music lovers. Urban Sophisticate, LLC, an upstart lifestyle and entertainment company, invites you to Rhymes & Reflection, a book club for music lovers. Instead of reading and meeting up to discuss a book we read we will listen to albums and meet up to share our thoughts on the music.

Inspired by a desire to acknowledge and reflect upon the redeeming qualities found in hip hop lyrics, Rhymes & Reflection will offer it’s members an opportunity to speak about the impact music has had on their lives.

As a member of Rhymes & Reflection you are being asked to listen to each selected album during the 2-3 month listening and reflection period as well as prepare answers to the Questions to Consider As You Listen to the album. Rhymes & Reflection members will volunteer their answers the night of each meeting after listening to the album at the meeting.

Questions to Consider As You Listen can be found below.

The first meeting is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2020, 8pm-11pm at The Rialto Theatre on Kenmore Boulevard allowing us to mix and mingle while we listen to and share our thoughts on the album.

There will be a cash bar and the newly opened Lil Bit Cafe, located across the street from The Rialto Theatre, will be taking orders for those who would like to get something quick to eat during the evening.

There is a $9 open membership fee each time we meet to help offset the cost of curation and operating expenses.

Gang Starr’s Step In The Arena is the first album we will listen to and reflect upon in honor of the 30th Anniversary of the album’s release.
